The Impound Lot is a secure storage area for vehicles that have been stolen, abandoned, or parked illegally or have been involved in an accident or crime.
The Calgary Parking Authority is responsible for the care of the vehicle and its contents once the vehicle has been seized by a peace officer.
Staff at the Impound Lot do not tow vehicles. Their role is to ensure that vehicles are safe and secure and are released only to authorized individuals. Vehicles will only be released to the vehicle owner or the owner’s designate.
The Impound Lot operations are regulated under the Traffic Safety Act, Vehicle Seizure and Removal Regulation.
Hours of Operation:
The Impound Lot operates on the following schedule:
- 7 am - 11 pm - Weekdays
- 9 am - 4 pm - Weekends and Statutory Holidays
- Closed on Christmas Day
The Impound Lot has a gatekeeper and security officer on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week so that impounded vehicles can be accepted at anytime to ensure vehicles are safe and secure.
